I want to go to the United States of America and study there.This is on the minds of several Indians .Why? I don’t know …may be because it’s really bad out here. Bad in the sense- the college campuses, the system of education,the weather , the water, the air, the society as a whole and everything else about it is bad , stark staring bad. Only thing which is good is the food . But I like western stuff- Western food , western clothes …not that they are revealing but because thay are stylish.Not that Indians are not aping the west and becoming stylish day by day ..but because you can wear such ‘open’clothes in such an open society…
What I mean to say is people out there in the other side of the world are broadminded and so called cool.
Well I shouldn’t have used this word . It is a bit too dangerous owing to its ambiguous meanings. And it’s the same with the word”hot”. I don’t know what they mean when they say”She is hot!!!”
The Americans are free….free in the sense….not freely eloping with their lovers and doing things they shouldn’t – atleast not here in India…
But by free I mean —free to study what thay want..An American does’t have to study Chemistry if he has to become a singer.
An American woman doesn’t have to cover her legs if she is feeling hot. The fact of the matter is that Indians are yet to realize that men have two legs and women have two legs too..Wow I didn’t know that.And the only difference if any, in the legs of men and women is that women’s legs are cleanly shaved and lotioned.Perhaps that is why they (the legs)when exposed little above the knees attract everybody’s attention.By everybody I don’t mean only the men but by everybody I mean all the hes , the shes and the its alike.
If I begin to draw a contrast between an American and an Indian I might end up never ending up…Confused? Mm? Well this is why like me the youth of this country likes to cross an acean at the least given opportunity, be it the Indian ocean for Singapore or the Pacific to go somewhere as far as U.S.A.You may call this the drain of the brain or whatever you may like but before you discourage this and try to stop it you must try to stop the widespread corruption, poverty,illiteracy,pollution and population.Why I am saying this is because by highlighting your vices and hiding your virtues you tend to augment your faults. So next time when your uncle pays a visit from U.S.A or Germany or London, then don’t cry and crib about how bad your country is or how desperate you are to escape the torture of living here. Instead let them know about the beauty of the Himalayas, the sanctity of the Ganges or the hospitality of Indian families or if you don’t find this cool enough(Oh! my sincere apologies for having used that word again but there is no synonym whatsoever for it),then go on to boast about the sexy Indian actors, the pvrs and the waves cinemas, the DND flyway , the discos, the 5-star hotels,…….and the list is indeed endless.Why are we Indians always at the mercy of the foreigners to even take a peep into their land? I am referring to the long queues at the USA and UK embassies. Standing and waiting there is like waiting in the line to take a small trip to heaven the ticket of which shall be given by the Almighty. The comparison may be oddly suited but the fact of the matter is that we worship the Americans and the English and everything they do not less than we do the Almighty.And despite being aware of the truth I am keen to go to the Unted States of America and study there. This article will not change my mind whatsoever.
